Abstract

In 2021, the economy of Berau Regency, as measured by the Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) at current prices, reached IDR 43.02 trillion, and at constant 2010 prices, it was IDR 28.80 trillion.

The economy of Berau Regency grew by 5.36 percent in 2021, a significant improvement compared to the negative growth rate of -3.32 percent in 2020.
Key Components of Economic Growth in 2021:

Net Exports: This component showed the highest growth rate, at 8.11 percent.
Government Consumption Expenditure: This component still experienced an economic contraction of 3.17 percent in 2021.

The economic structure of Berau Regency in 2021 was still dominated by the net export component, which accounted for 64.98 percent.
Positive economic growth in 2021 occurred in eight regencies/cities in East Kalimantan Province. Berau Regency contributed 6.19 percent to the total GRDP of regencies/cities in East Kalimantan Province.
