export value of Kalimantan Timur Province in March 2024 amounted to
US$2,215.00 million, representing an increase of 25.38 percent compared
to February 2024.
The
March 2024 oil and gas exports amounted to US$141.14 million, down
15.90 percent compared to February 2024. In contrast, non-oil and gas
exports amounted to US$2,073.86 million, an increase of 29.71 percent.Cumulatively,
the export value of Kalimantan Timur Province for January-March 2024
reached US$5,928.10 million, a decrease of 25.44 percent compared to the
same period in 2023.By
commodity group, the largest increase in non-oil and gas export value
in March 2024 compared to February 2024 occurred in the mineral fuel
group, which increased by US$357.51 million (27.13 percent). Meanwhile,
the lowest increase in export value occurred in the waste and food
industry residue group, amounting to US$1.29 million (62.02 percent).During
January-March 2024, China was the main export destination country with
the largest role, with exports valued at US$1,780.73 million (33.48
percent), followed by India with US$921.98 million (17.33 percent), and
the Philippines with US$437.18 million (8.22 percent).During
January-March 2024, mining commodities remained the mainstay of
Kalimantan Timur Province's exports, accounting for 71.16 percent.
Industrial products ranked second with a share of 18.37 percent, and oil
and gas export value ranked third with a contribution of 10.28 percent.The
three ports contributing the most to the total export value of
Kalimantan Timur Province in March 2024 were Samarinda Port (US$637.61
million), Balikpapan Port (US$440.90 million), and Tanjung Bara Port
(US$371.09 million).The
import value of Kalimantan Timur Province in March 2024 amounted to
US$257.76 million, a decrease of 22.59 percent compared to the import
value in February 2024.Non-oil
and gas imports were valued at US$78.08 million, down 21.58 percent
compared to February 2024, while oil and gas imports in March 2024
amounted to US$179.68 million, down 23.02 percent.The
largest increase in non-oil and gas import value occurred in the
machinery and mechanical equipment group, with an increase of US$7.01
million (22.80 percent). Conversely, the deepest decrease occurred in
the ship, boat, and floating structure group, amounting to US$19.26
million (86.76 percent).In
terms of their contribution to total non-oil and gas imports during
January-March 2024, the largest contributions from the country of origin
were dominated by China at US$78.95 million with a share of 25.53
percent, followed by the United States at US$42.39 million with a share
of 13.71 percent, and Japan at US$35.79 million with a share of 11.58
percent.By
commodity usage group, in March 2024, all commodity groups experienced a
decrease. The capital goods group experienced the deepest decrease at
40.71 percent compared to the previous month. Meanwhile, the consumer
goods and raw material/auxiliary goods groups each experienced a
decrease of 20.56 percent and 20.11 percent, respectively.The
trade balance of Kalimantan Timur Province in March 2024 experienced a
surplus of US$1,957.24 million. The non-oil and gas sector trade balance
recorded a surplus of US$1,995.78 million, while the oil and gas sector
recorded a deficit of US$38.54 million.
