The
export value of Kalimantan Timur Province in April 2024 amounted to
US$2.112.96 million, a decrease of 4.61 percent compared to March 2024.
Crude oil exports in April 2024 amounted to US$145.45 million, an
increase of 3.05 percent compared to March 2024. Conversely, non-oil and
gas exports amounted to US$1.967.51 million, a decrease of 5.13
percent.
Cumulatively,
the export value of Kalimantan Timur Province during January–April 2024
amounted to US$8,041.05 million, a decrease of 22.36 percent compared
to the same period in 2023. Based on commodity groups, the largest
increase in non-oil and gas exports in April 2024 compared to March 2024
occurred in the group of organic chemical materials, which increased by
US$9.39 million (816.52 percent). Conversely, the deepest decrease in
export value occurred in the fertilizer group, amounting to US$44.94
million (70.23 percent).During
the period of January–April 2024, China was the main destination
country for exports, accounting for the largest share with an export
value of US$2,360.72 million (32.40 percent), followed by India with a
value of US$1,329.81 million (18.25 percent), and the Philippines with
US$632.81 million (8.68 percent).During
the period of January–April 2024, mining commodities remained the
mainstay of Kalimantan Timur Province's exports, accounting for 72.75
percent. Industrial products ranked second with a share of 17.68
percent, and oil and gas exports ranked third with a share of 9.38
percent.The
three ports contributing the most to the total export value of
Kalimantan Timur Province in April 2024 were Samarinda Port (US$594.26
million), Balikpapan Port (US$468.34 million), and Tanjung Bara Port
(US$358.14 million).The
import value of Kalimantan Timur Province in April 2024 amounted to
US$343.53 million, an increase of 33.28 percent compared to the import
value in March 2024. Non-oil and gas imports amounted to US$90.18
million, an increase of 15.50 percent compared to March 2024, while oil
and gas imports in April 2024 amounted to US$253.35 million, an increase
of 41.00 percent.The
largest increase in non-oil and gas imports occurred in the group of
ships, boats, and floating structures, which increased by US$3.85
million (130.95 percent). Conversely, the deepest decrease occurred in
the group of machinery and mechanical equipment and parts, amounting to
US$3.36 million (8.90 percent).In
terms of their contribution to total non-oil and gas imports during the
period of January–April 2024, the largest contributions by the country
of origin were dominated by China with US$102.92 million, accounting for
25.77 percent, followed by the United States with US$59.72 million,
accounting for 14.95 percent, and Japan with US$40.44 million,
accounting for 10.13 percent.According
to the commodity usage groups, in April 2024, the group of raw
materials/auxiliary materials experienced an increase of 37.11 percent
compared to the previous month. Conversely, the other two groups, namely
consumer goods and capital goods, experienced decreases of 18.82
percent and 2.62 percent, respectively.The
trade balance of Kalimantan Timur Province in April 2024 experienced a
surplus of US$1,769.43 million. The non-oil and gas sector trade balance
recorded a surplus of US$1,877.33 million, while the oil and gas sector
recorded a deficit of US$107.90 million.
