Abstract

The Consumer Tendency Index (ITK) is an indicator of current economic developments produced by the Central Statistics Agency through the Consumer Tendency Survey (STK). ITK is a composite index reflecting households' perceptions of economic conditions and consumption behavior during the current quarter and forecasts for the upcoming quarter.
Respondents for the STK are a sub-sample from the National Labor Force Survey (Sakernas), specifically in urban areas. The sample selection is conducted on a quarterly panel basis to obtain a more accurate picture of changes in consumer perceptions over time.
