Abstract

A. General Explanation

The Consumer Tendency Index (ITK) is an indicator of the latest consumer economic developments produced by the Central Bureau of Statistics through the Tendency Survey of Consumers (STK). ITK is an index that describes the condition of the consumer economy in the current quarter and forecast the coming quarter.
The number of STK samples in quarter II-2015 were 327 households in East Kalimantan province from Berau, Balikpapan, Samarinda, and Bontang. STK respondents from Q1 / 2015 were selected on the medium and high category census block categories based on the "wealth index" and are subsamples of the National Socio-Economic Survey (Susenas) specifically in urban areas. Selection of samples was conducted in antartriwulan panels to obtain a more accurate picture of changes in consumer perceptions over time. At the same time, the improvement of questionnaire and how to calculate the index.

B. Consumer Economic Condition Quarter II-2015

The Consumer Tendency Index (ITK) in East Kalimantan in the second quarter of 2015 was 107.40, which means that the economic condition of consumers increased compared to the previous quarter. Increased consumer economic conditions in the second quarter of 2015 as a result of rising incomes, household consumption and less inflation rate of overall household expenditure. While the level of consumer optimism increased compared to the previous quarter (ITK value of 101.03).

C. Consumer Economic Outlook for Quarter III-2015

Value of East Kalimantan ITK in quarter III-2015 is estimated at 109.00 which can be interpreted that consumer economic condition will be better than quarter II-2015. While the level of consumer optimism is estimated to increase by 1.60 points compared to the previous quarter.
