Abstract

The economic condition of consumers in Kalimantan Timur Province in quarter I-2016 experienced an increase marked by the value of the Consumer Tendency Index of 102.40. Nevertheless, the level of consumer optimism declined compared with the previous quarter (105.90). The improvement in consumer economic conditions in Q1 / 2016 was driven by higher revenues and less inflationary impact on overall household consumption.
The value of ITK of Kalimantan Timur Province in the upcoming quarter II-2016 is estimated at 101.08. Although the amount is above 100 which means that the consumer economic condition is expected to increase compared to the first quarter of 2016, but the level of consumer optimism fell by 1.32 points compared to the first quarter-2016 which amounted to 102.40.
