Abstract

The economic condition of consumers in Kalimantan Timur Province in quarter III-2016 experienced an increase marked by the increase in the value of the Consumer Tendency Index to 105.79. The improvement in consumer economic conditions in the third quarter of 2016 was due to an increase in income and a lack of influential inflation on household consumption. However, the value of ITK dropped by 6.90 points, indicating that the level of consumer optimism decreased when compared to the previous quarter (112.69).
The value of ITK of Kalimantan Timur Province in the upcoming quarter IV-2016 is estimated at 103.48. Although the amount is above 100 which means that consumer economic condition is expected to increase compared to quarter III-2016, but the level of consumer optimism fell 2.31 points.
