The
export value of Kalimantan Timur Province in February 2024 was recorded
at US$1,766.64 million, a decrease of 9.24 percent compared to January
2024.
In
February 2024, the export of oil and gas (migas) amounted to US$167.83
million, a decrease of 44.10 percent compared to January 2024.
Meanwhile, non-oil and gas (nonmigas) exports were recorded at
US$1,598.81 million, a decrease of 2.88 percent.Cumulatively,
the export value of Kalimantan Timur Province during January-February
2024 was recorded at US$3,713.10 million, a decrease of 27.20 percent
compared to the same period in 2023.Based
on the category of goods, the largest increase in nonmigas exports in
February 2024 compared to January 2024 occurred in the category of
mineral fuel goods, which increased by US$92.28 million (7.53 percent).
On the other hand, the deepest decrease occurred in the category of
animal/vegetable fats and oils, amounting to US$121.57 million (-38.14
percent).During
January-February 2024, China was the main destination for exports,
playing the largest role with an export value of US$1,060.31 million
(32.67 percent), followed by India with a value of US$530.42 million
(16.35 percent), and the Philippines with US$288.29 million (8.88
percent).During
January-February 2024, mining commodities remained the mainstay of
Kalimantan Timur Province's exports, accounting for 68.49 percent.
Industrial products ranked second with a share of 18.69 percent, and the
export value of migas ranked third with a contribution of 12.61
percent.The
three ports that made the largest contributions to the total export
value of Kalimantan Timur Province in February 2024 were Samarinda Port
(US$537.80 million), Balikpapan Port (US$520.57 million), and Tanjung
Bara Port (US$362.24 million).The
import value of Kalimantan Timur Province in February 2024 was recorded
at US$332.97 million, a decrease of 21.94 percent compared to January
2024.The
nonmigas import value was US$99.57 million, a decrease of 24.30 percent
compared to January 2024. Meanwhile, the migas import value in February
2024 was US$233.40 million, a decrease of 20.88 percent.The
largest increase in nonmigas imports was in the category of ships,
boats, and floating structures, which increased by US$11.99 million
(117.43 percent). Conversely, the deepest decrease occurred in the
category of machinery and mechanical equipment and parts, amounting to
US$25.19 million (-45.03 percent).In
terms of their contribution to the total nonmigas imports during
January-February 2024, the largest contributions by the country of
origin were dominated by China with US$66.12 million, accounting for
28.61 percent, followed by Japan with US$30.28 million, accounting for
13.10 percent, and the United States with US$27.15 million, accounting
for 11.75 percent.By
category of use, in February 2024, the consumption goods category
increased by 13.83 percent compared to the previous month. On the other
hand, the raw materials/auxiliary goods and capital goods categories
decreased by 21.86 percent and 23.13 percent, respectively.The
trade balance of Kalimantan Timur Province in February 2024 experienced
a surplus of US$1,433.67 million. The nonmigas sector trade balance
recorded a surplus of US$1,499.24 million, while the migas sector
recorded a deficit of US$65.57 million.
