During July 2018, inflation stood at 0.92 percent in Kalimantan Timur

Abstract

Out of 82 national CPI monitoring cities, most cities experienced inflation in July 2018 of 68 cities and 14 other cities experiencing deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Sorong Municipality of 1.47 percent and the lowest inflation occurred in Depok, Banyuwangi and Surabaya respectively by 0.03 percent. While the highest deflation occurred in Ambon Municipality of -1.45 percent and the lowest in Pelembang of -0.01 percent.
Kalimantan Timur Province (Combined Samarinda Municipality and Balikpapan Municipality) in July 2018 occurred Inflation of 0.92 percent with inflation rate of calendar year of 3.03 percent and Year-on-year Inflation rate of 3.42 percent.
In July 2018 there was inflation of 0.83 percent in Samarinda and 1.03 percent in Balikpapan.
Inflation in Kalimantan Timur was affected by an increase in the transport and communications price index by 2.38 percent, followed by education, recreation and sports by 2.12 percent, foodstuffs by 0.94 percent, housing, water, electriMunicipality, gas and fuel by 0.45 percent, health group by 0.31 percent, then group of finished food, beverage, cigarette and tobacco 0.24 percent. Meanwhile, clothing group experienced deflation of -0.06 percent.
